In just 60 seconds, the creative team at Pixel Bakery takes you through every single step of the coffee process. This animation is for coffee lovers and industry professionals, as well as a resource for consumers who are curious about all that goes into a simple cup of coffee.

While Onyx already has incredible branding and a cult following, both online and in-person, we had the opportunity to create and expand upon their visual language. We were inspired by old-timey botanical and anatomical textbook illustrations. The marriage of organic ink illustration, vintagey textures, and graphic textual details tells you: Onyx knows what they’re talking about, and they look cool talking about it.

Our creative team extensively researched each step of the coffee process in order to tell an accurate story. Once the story started taking shape, we were able to pull in fun facts and details, then jam pack the animation with science and education. The experts at ONYX were happy to help us along the way, including giving us a virtual tour of their machinery.
